What a trip! Such a fabulous mini-vacation/conference location! Here are some updates on the new catalog and what is coming in the next few weeks and goes live on February 1st!

A brand new cutting machine from Spellbinders - the Grand Calibur, and we have partnered with them so our dies will have the spellbinder patent design that is so easy to use.Unlike the current Grand Calibur, this new one has an actual full-sized 8.5"x11" platform (the one on the market currently isn't really 8.5"x11'). For a limited time, this machine will only be availablethrough a a•musestudio.
New dies, some of which are also exclusive to a•musestudio and only work in this new machine.
46 or 47 new stamp sets (I can't get a consistent count)
ALL but 3 items from the 2012 Holiday catalog
Re-designed polka dot paper - now it's on sugar paper instead of vanilla
paper and the dots are small and uniform in appearance and alignment
A brand new color palette called Venetian that will knock your socks off!!!
There are 6 solid cardstock colors, and 6 matching patterned papers in addition
to ink pads and satin ribbon to match.
4 new colors have been added to the existing color palettes which have been
re-designed to make them fit. Look for Grape, Grapefruit, Seattle, and
Pistashio. We are also keeping Pebble, Cocoa, & Wasabi from the 2011 Holiday catalog.
2 new ribbon styles - chevron (bermuda, lime, orange) and silky crushed

We've added crystal clear cardstock which is a thick clear acetate and a
really nice coasterboard as well.
Shimmer cardstock and damask now have assortment packs just like gingham and
the new polka dot.
There is a new patterned paper called graph which has been really fun to play
with already!
The consultant starter kit has been upgraded to include more cardstock so a
new consultant doesn't have to place an order right away to start their first
event. You could get started right outta the box, for real!

Gift Card Holder with a•muse|studio

Such an easy way to give a gift card that looks elegant.

Cut your paper to 4 1/4 x 11 and score it along the 11 inch side at 3, 5 1/2 and 8.

You will fold the 5 1/2 inch score to a mountain fold and 3 and 8 in a valley fold.

Now flip the entire card over and tape the outside edge of the card so you create a folded element in the center of the card, trim the top of the folded edge to make an opening for the gift card to be placed. Easy Peasy!

Dry Embossing used to be tedious to me, but now that I have all these great embossing plates from a•musestudio, it is so easy. I combined the polka dot plate with a cardstock oval from our large oval spellbinders set and this is the little beauty I came up with, it's not "hallyween" but that was yesterday and I'm so over it! :) I just have to finish my candy.....

Our Challenge this week: Brown and Pink, a little bit of a struggle for me as I'm more of an orange and pink, yellow and pink, black and pink kinda girl.

Here's a look into my thought process...Pink = Love, what do I love, COFFEE, coffee is brown, what to I love more than coffee being with friends. Yeah a card with coffee for my friend! Works for me!

Make A Background a•muse|studio challenge

This Week I created this challenge. Pick a focal image and create a background with it. This technique is a great way to EXTEND your stamp supplies!

Ain't live GRAND! It is when you have 2 minutes to create a card, this is IT! Washi Tape prevents all the hassles of ribbon and still adds the splash.

Black ink, Celebrate in Style stamp set, bermuda and white paper! WOOT! :)

TWINE, and a little TIME!

I love to stitch, sew and create with fabric, but TIME is not available for me, so when this challenge came up, I thought I need to SEW. And quite frightful is the reverse side, I certainly would not win a competition in sewing however that's why in cardmaking we hide our mistakes. :)

I made holes for the stitching with a push pin, in a web shape. A few stamps and you have a delightful card for Halloween.

I really want to be ahead of the game this year so I've created a muslin bag with our simple tree die, I cut a•muse|studio felt and attached it with heat and bond. What a cute way to wrap a gift card! Stitch a little circle of muslin onto an onyx button with black twine and you've got it "wrapped"! :0)

This was created using two stamps sets, on a wing SISP006 and seasonal branch SJEJ005, a little crystal glaze on the colorful leaves.

Moxie Fab - Royalty

Some Royal Fun! I definately think so. Did you watch the "royal" wedding? I did and could NOT get enough of the flower girl with the face of disgust. She just cracked me up. I was a flower girl when I was about that age and continue to this day to be reminded that my dress was above my head most of the day. I think she did wonderfully. So royalty inspired this card creation. By the way, she might have been much happier if she had these yummies before the wedding.

I used a brand new die cut I just purchased by MFT dizzy doilly, a musestudio bermuda satin ribbon pleated with hero arts crocheted lace strip placed on top. Patterned paper and a vintage image from crafty secrets. Thanks for the inspiration!

MoxieFab - Skirting the Issue

This weeks Moxie Fab challege is this spring skirt from Anthropology, if you've never been shopping with me in this store, plan on an hour OR MORE! I love this store, and they have my size (sometimes):p Now this skirt I would never wear, it would look more like an umbrella on me, HOWEVER, what fun it was to create this card including my potential body! The craft lounge and a•musestudio stamps were used along with a•musestudio paper to create the "skirted" background! Thank you for the challege Moxie, very fun!

I love that these colors seem like fall to me, but here they look like Spring!

Nothing says quick card like a beautiful die cut, but if you stamp the background and create it yourself.....not so quick. :)

I really love the sentiment on this card, I think it was one of the first ones I bought "long" ago.

A muse Studio Stamps have just made my life a "whole" lot easier. I love, love, love that they are not on blocks anymore. I know I'm a "woodie" from way back, but NOW you can make your stems and images curvy. Check this out!See that little blue thing on the block, that's sticky tack or adhesive putty and it holds the cling in place at a curve, HOW fabulous is that!

A muse Studio Stamps Set Smile Outside is a great little set and so fun to stamp in all different ways. But when you get two creative minds on the same wavelength, this is what you get! Cards that are similar, but different. Love that card too, way prettier than mine with more detail, I didn't fussy cut the flower, I punched it. I love the washi tape too! Less fuss, no muss! Damask Paper from A muse Studio is so georgeous! So use your scraps! If you keep them. I always throw away my scraps, but this time I just couldn't throw away my Damask Scraps so I made a "sheet of scraps" with my xyron and hopefully will use it next time I'm diecutting with my NEW A muse Studio Dies!

With the leftover pieces I created this simple card! Stamped with the new Kindred Spirits Set from A muse Studio!

Butterfly Trio Die Cut - A muse Studio

A muse Studio has some really great die cuts in this catalog, and one that I am very excited about is the Butterfly Trio. They are the PERFECT card size. Just email me on the contact tab at the link above and I'll order them if you are interested!

I was able to create these cards super quickly! All three sizes included in the set are on the center card and the right and left card are created with the largest die cut. Actually the red butterfly is created by the negative space from cutting out the white A muse Studio Butterfly! How fun is that?

Valentine's with Memory Box

There are a few times when cards just come together, this was one of the times it happened. It might be that I was working with all the same company or maybe I was just feeling a little loved.

Quickcuts harlequin embossing folder background and colored in the stamp with black detail marker to make it look like a silhouette.

Teal Tulle dressed up this love bird card, I masked an oval on the patterned paper and stamped the love birds in the nest on the branch. A few little A muse pearls accent the nest, with little prima flowers and a metallic jo-lee heart sticker this card could be used beyond valentines as a wedding or anniversary card.Memento Ink and a little spritz of shimmerz, yowza a super valentine wish!

I love the way these colors come together. At first I was a little challenged but once I pulled some paper out of my stash, I had fun putting it together. As you all know Gray IS the new Black! This a muse Slate color is the perfect grey.

The Stamptacular Challenge this week is "Anything but a Square Card" the only "absolute" is ..you must stamp. So here is a little house card. I'm thinking I should invite some friends over for coffee. I'm going to try and participate in more challenges this year so I thought I'd start NOW!

Prima tiny roses, colored with copic.

You can make and A2 size card and cut the roof so it opens on the left side or you can create the card with the fold at the roof and have the opening at the bottom. You choose!

I recently made a bunch of cards to sell at the shop. They are all wedding cards, simple and easy to reproduce, so you can buy the completed card at the shop or you can use this idea and recreate your own card.

Off to the dentist first thing this morning for an ortho check up with my 8th grader. As I'm preparing to go I realize it's a New Year, but it doesn't feel like it. It feels like any other day, so I'm in the process of trying to put my goal and resolution of "enjoying the moment, every moment, or at least just aknowledging the moment" in place. So I sat back down and really tasted my coffee, I started off the day with a whole new outlook! I really want to create some home decor items, during this holiday season, so last week I STARTED....kinda. In my STASH, which I have intended to use for about 3 years are Maya Road penant album pages that I wanted to make into penants to hang. But, what to say, what words to hang in my house that I am not going to tire of....this is a big deal to ME.

So inspiration came from how OLD I am and what I want 2011 to be. This is what I came up with.

It's just in the beginning stages, I need to add little trinkets to each penant and maybe images that identify with each part of our family. I'm contemplating......but I really think this is a good resolution. The decorative paper is from WeRMemory Keepers and I also used my YES, I actually used it CRICUT to cut the letters. The glitter you ask, vintage glass glitter that I paid way to much for to use, but I decided WTH, use it up!

Also I have a few more cards to share this week, here is a super simple stampendous image done up for the holidays. Sentiment by A muse. Oh and by the way, since my friend Kitty asked. I almost always use, a quickie glue or zig glue pen for my loose (DecoArt glamour dust) glitter. I just don't have the patience for the drying time Stickles takes, but I love the Stickles colors so when I have time I use that too.

Way late to the party, but I was here in spirits. I hope you've been bloggin' around the A muse instructors they have been really busy bustin' out some awesome things for the AMAP amuse bouches. I however have a lot of catching up to do! So I'll get right to it!

The winter critters in this release served double duty for me.

A little package of treats makes this "trick or treater" really happy. I created 3 little lifesaver holders with a larger score on top so I could use other candies for the ghouls that come by.

And sing I shall, I nabbed up some of this awesome Tim Holtz tissue tape while shopping around one of the stores I teach at, And thought ....THIS would be perfect with.....and the list got longer and longer so I bought it. It goes great with our groovy partridge. There are quite a few winter creitters in this release and I love them all. I used the bare branch with embossing powder and it made the card a little elegant.

Creating at Camp

Here I am on our annual trek to camp for the 4th of July. This time we brought 2 vehicles so we could tow a boat and a trailer full of hand made furniture for the bedrooms. DH worked diligently to create little cubbies to go next to the beds and now we have a tidy little place to keep our duffle bags.

I packed a bunch of stamping stuff of course. And since we were taking two cars I didn't have to limit myself. It's been a little rainy so I've taken the opportunity to create cards for my CAS classes and beginning next week we will add OWH to the CAS card classes. Home from camp on Monday...Tuesday AM trying to figure out WHY I can not get on the INTERNET! What is going on, why isn't this working, try, this, call them, on hold, do this, unplug that, plug this into that, (okay sweating now)..... in the end, router fried during storm....

So finally SATURDAY AM, while running in a 5K race... (34:28) not bad for an old mare.

My Time Warner guy showed up and fixed it all, thank goodness DH was home to greet him.

I'm back online YIPPEE! So I want to catch you up on my week!
